Instructions
-
Prepare Pan:
Grease or line a 9″ × 5″ loaf pan with parchment paper. -
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, xanthan gum, yeast, cream of tartar, sugar, and whisk to blend well. -
Add Wet Ingredients:
Add milk, melted butter, egg whites, and apple cider vinegar. Mix until the dough is smooth. The dough will be quite wet. -
Shape & Rise:
Pour the dough into the prepared loaf pan. Score the top if desired. Cover and let it rise until it nearly doubles (about 1 hour). -
Bake:
Bake the loaf at a high temperature (around 400 °F) for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches about 205 °F. -
Cool:
Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before slicing.
Storage & Tips
-
Store in an airtight container; it stays fresh for about 48 hours.
-
Avoid pre-slicing unless freezing — slicing early can dry it out.
-
To revive slightly stale slices, mist with a little water and toast lightly.
-
For freezing: slice the loaf, wrap each slice, and store in airtight freezer-safe packaging.
