Cottage Cheese Bagels

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix Dough
    In a large bowl, combine cottage cheese, eggs, baking powder, and salt. Stir until blended.
    Add the gluten-free flour gradually and mix until a dough forms. The dough should be soft but not overly sticky — add a little extra flour if needed.

  3. Shape Bagels
    Lightly flour your hands and work surface. Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces.
    Roll each piece into a rope about 6–7 inches long and form into a circle, pinching the ends to seal.

  4. Add Toppings
    If desired, brush the tops with a tiny bit of water and sprinkle with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or everything seasoning.

  5. Bake
    Place bagels on the lined baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes, or until lightly golden and cooked through.

  6. Cool & Serve
    Let bagels cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy warm or toasted with your favorite toppings!

 

Tips & Variations

  • For a more traditional bagel texture, boil bagels briefly in water before baking (optional).

  • You can add herbs or garlic powder to the dough for savory flavor.

  • To make dairy-free, substitute cottage cheese with a firm dairy-free yogurt and adjust flour as needed.
